The Open Days themed “The Role of New Technicians in the Development of the Greek Industry” were successfully conducted by the Theodorou Group, with the support of Hellenic Federation of Enterprises and the Panhellenic Association of Directors of Public Vocational Training Institutes, on Tuesday, June 4, and Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Our goal was to inform student-technician candidates about the significant role they will play in the development of Greek businesses in the Industry sector, the responsibilities of technical departments, and the required skills.
We welcomed over 60 students who had the opportunity to learn about the vision, culture, and activities of the Theodorou Group and to watch a range of integrated solutions we provide to our clients through videos and case studies.
Additionally, we presented future technical professions and career and development opportunities within our group to the students. Subsequently, we guided the students through our facilities, where they saw our systems up close and received practical insights into the profession’s requirements and the challenges they will face.
At the end of the event, participants had the chance to talk with executives from the Theodorou Group, ask questions, express their interest in learning, and explore collaboration opportunities.
Representatives from Hellenic Federation of Enterprises and Panhellenic Association of Directors of Public Vocational Training Institutes attended the Theodorou Open Days.
“Priority and Commitment to Creating a New Generation of Technicians”
Regarding the event we organized, the CEO of the Group, Evangelos Theodorou, noted:
“Close interaction with the academic community and the minds of the future is our priority and commitment. We believe that by helping young people understand the job market and the working environment, we empower them to make the best decisions for their future. At the same time, we better understand the needs and capabilities of the new generation. Thus, we contribute significantly to creating a future generation of skilled technicians in the Greek industry, characterized by professionalism and, above all, a passion for what they do. It was a great pleasure to host the students and professors of Public Vocational Training Institutes at our facilities and show them a small but essential glimpse of what it means to work in a large industrial group.”
Among others, Dora Oikonomou, Director of Human Resource Development at Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, stated:
“Education and businesses are in dialogue and cooperation. The Theodorou Open Days event we organized together with the Theodorou Group and the Panhellenic Association of Directors of Public Vocational Training Institutes brought 60 students into the production space to get to know the industry that adopts new technologies, evolves, and offers significant professional development opportunities.”
Moreover, Anastasios Kakouros, President of the Panhellenic Association of Directors of Public Vocational Training Institutes, emphasized::
“Actions that connect Public Vocational Training Institutes with businesses significantly contribute to upgrading vocational education and training. During the Open Days held in collaboration with Hellenic Federation of Enterprises at the Theodorou Group facilities, students from various Public Vocational Training Institutes in Attica had the chance to learn about the role of technicians, their duties, and their employment prospects in a modern industry, and saw the production of modern automation systems up close. They were informed about employment and internship opportunities at the Theodorou Group, with many already starting the process to take advantage of these.”
We warmly thank Hellenic Federation of Enterprises and the Panhellenic Association of Directors of Public Vocational Training Institutes for their valuable support.
